The 4 stretches to do before hitting golf balls

Before all physical activities or sports, it is always a good idea to warm up the body and stretch out the joints and muscles you will be using.  In this article, we will look at four stretches that can particularly help a golfer before they begin to swing their clubs or hit a bucket of balls.

Pelvic mobility

Hold a club in front of you keeping the knees slightly bent.  Increase the curvature in the lower back by sticking the buttocks out and then flatten the lower back by pulling in the abdominals.  Do not move the rest of the body.

Repeat the movement 10 times and perform 3 sets.

Hip flexor stretch
Place one foot on an elevated object.  Pivot the pelvis backwards to flatten the back.  Advance the entire trunk and pelvis forward.  Hold the stretch for 15 to 20 seconds and repeat the stretch three time per side.

Trunk rotation stretch

Place a club behind your head and rest it on the shoulders. In the golf stance, turn the upper body to the right and to the left, without moving either the hips or the legs. Perform 10 repetitions per side.

Shoulder flexion stretch
Hold a club in both hands with the palms facing forward.  Lift the club over your head without bending the elbows and keeping the head and upper back as straight as possible. Repeat the movement ten times.

With the Kinatex Golf program, we will evaluate the 12 swing characteristics of a golfer.  In addition, 16 biomechanical tests will be assessed to better understand the physical strengths and weakness of each golfer.  Finally, 2 programs based on these two comprehensive analyses will be given to the golfer, one with exercises to improve the golf swing and the second to improve the body's biomechanics.
